Books on the House is a non-profit organization that empowers our local communities through FREE book access via our Book Mobile & promotes the reuse/recycling of books through activated sustainability! Our diverse and inclusive Literary Equity Project allows us to provide free books for all ages and backgrounds ensuring that everyone can explore, learn, and grow in the Mecklenburg County & Lake Norman regions of NC. By investing in the power of literacy through book access and sustainable practices, we're not just providing free books; we're empowering individuals to unlock their full potential, write their future story, and enrich the communities in which they live.
Our initiatives not only provide free books for all ages, but we also want to foster a culture of lifelong learning and growth. The Literary Equity Project addresses the critical need for diverse and inclusive literature in under-resourced communities, ensuring that marginalized voices are not only represented but empowered. By providing access to books that resonate with these communities, we foster educational growth, cultural pride, and the tools necessary for upward mobility. This initiative not only enriches lives but also builds a foundation for long-term community development and resilience.
As we invest in literary opportunity in our local communities by purchasing books that represent all that we serve, we are not merely shaping minds; we are building bridges for opportunity and unlocking the full potential of every person we give a book to. We are helping to write a new chapter in the narrative of community empowerment and enrichment, where every page turned brings us closer to a brighter tomorrow.
